But then Radio gives up his old tube which coincidentally is the same tube used for Wittgenstein and thus he gives up his life to save Wittgenstein. Radio (not voiced by Jon Lovitz) and Ratso go to the college storage facility to find a new tube, the same kind of tube Wittgenstein has, but both end up destroying it, thus Wittgenstein ends up blowing up and is considered a goner. Meanwhile at a vet clinic, several animals including a cat named Maisie (voiced by Alfre Woodward), a Chihuahua named Alberto (voiced by Danny Nucci), a snake named Murgetroid (voiced by Andy Daly), and an old chimp named Sebastian (voiced by Eddie Bracken) are injured animals that Rob had recused and are taken care of, but Rob's lab assistant Mack (voiced by Jay Mohr) plans on taking the animals to a laboratory named Tartaras which was where Sebastian was treated miserably, and so the appliances with the help of a lab rat named Ratso (voiced by Andy Milder) go and see what's causing the virus, and it's due to an old computer named Wittgenstein (voiced by Brian Doyle-Murray, Bill's brother), who is living on an old vacuum tube and showing his age, and unless a new vacuum tube is found quickly, his tube will blow, and Wittgenstein will die. The Master, or Rob who is the owner of our heroes from the last film is in his last days of college and all seems well, until while working on thesis for his last paper, his computer crashes due to a virus and the appliances see this as a terrible thing and try to find out the cause of the virus and see if they can reverse it before the Master's paper is due. Will they save the day in such a heart-stomping fashion like the first film or will this be more of a kid-friendly tone and lack any of the real suspense the first film had? I would say the latter very quickly but let's read the story. In this one, the brave Toaster and his pals go and try to fix an old computer while also trying to thwart a sinister plan of having injured animals kidnapped and sold. Though it was the second one made, it was the third one released due to it being released in 1999 after The Brave Little Toaster Goes to Mars. Despite not having the same people that worked on the writing and direction of this film, it was a serviceable continuation of the story, with some of the original cast returning, and has similar animation to the first movie. The second Brave Little Toaster film was the first of two sequels released in the late 90's on home video by Walt Disney Home Entertainment, and like the first film, it starred a group of household appliances that come to life and are living under their master, now grown up and is in his college days. An okay sequel that lacks some of the charm that the original film had.
